With the increasing of the complexity of aircrafts'functions and missions, the avionic computer has been serving as the data processing platform for flight managements, information processing and functional integrations.In this paper, grounded on researches conducted on the Superscalar CPU Structure and the PowerPC Architecture, and analyses made regarding the 60X bus protocol of PowerPC755, a new scheme, for designing avionics computer, is proposed, which is based on the initiatively developed bus control module for PowerPC755 and fully accords with the high reliability required by avionics.Differing from the common ones using commercial bridge chips and SDRAM, this scheme adopts programmable logic chips and SRAM with high reliability,on which an original 60X bus control and interface module, supporting burst bus data transfers, is developed as to achieve high efficiency in the transfers between processors and asynchronous memories. The innovation enhances the level of integration and reliability of the computer, takes full advantages of the excellent performance of PowerPC755, ensures the high reliability of the computer, and find a solution to enhance the performance of some avionic computer.After the trial development of the prototype and engineering samples, the scheme has been applied to the avionic computers in some key state projects,and the successful flight tests validate the feasibility and correctness of the scheme,which is the first time by the successful application of PowerPC755 in some avionic computer with high reliability, narrows the gap in the technical development between China and the world, and shows great significance in promoting the Research and Development of the avionic computer in our country.
