Analysis Of Chinese Architectural Color Design Through Luis Barragán's Color Idea

Currently, with the economic development, cities are expanding rapidly, meantime, buildings in cities seems like containers in which people live and work,their sudden generations also make cities new looks. Color as an architectural language of buildings, not only could serve the demands of expression of architectural ideas, delivery of building emotion, meeting people's physiological and psychological requirements, but also should be harmony with the environment of the city. Buildings are major factors in the city's construction; their colors play a very important role. In our current large-scale urban construction, architectural design and process in building highlight many problems, Such as:a number of single building are pursuing the goal of "new" and "strange" excessively, with the lack of considering harmony with the overall environment, resulting in chaotic atmosphere in building's color, even being visual pollution and the lack of characteristics in the city. At the same time, according to the situation of internationalization, duplication in information, technology, and architectural materials, is leading to common forms and colors of building. Refer to this context, the color in current building is particular important. How to resolve these problems? The paper attempts to analyze the characteristics in architectural color, and relative factors which are influencing it, especially through the analysis towards Mexican architect Luis Barragan's architecture color and other countries experience in construction of architectural color, combined with the actual situation in contemporary constructing with building, to find out the vital problems we confront, to concretely discuss the resolvents in methods and steps in this subject.This article is divided into a total of four parts. The first one is to clarify the background of this thesis, provide a clear purpose and objects we research, introduce correlative theories in order to establish the appropriate theoretical basis; beside, to demonstrate the architectural color characteristics and factors which affect the building color., Secondly, to analyze the current architectural color in China.Thirdly, to analyze Barragan building's color character and what we could learn from them. Fourthly, to offer some proposals and summaries about Chinese architectural color design.
