High unpredictability of the earthquake and the recent earthquake caused huge casualties and economic losses. It makes the scholars and engineers to review the traditional seismic design theory and seismic design, In order to improve the structural seismic design theory and methods.The seismic research topics is how to assess and ensure the building not to collapse during the rare earthquake, to correctly understand and grasp the structure of the damage situation in the earthquake. This thesis focuses on a practical engineering analysis using pushover analysis and research.This thesis introduces the performance-based seismic design theory and its development. It discusses the nonlinear static methods in domestic and international development, research and application.The analysis of the structure in elastic stage is carried out, because this is the first step of the seismic design, the section and its reinforcement of structure members are designed with model analysis method so the structure can satisfy the strength and deformation requirement in the occupant period. Following the above, the analysis of the structure during rare earthquake should be implemented. This paper discusses the basic principles of Pushover analysis, basic assumptions, steps, and the representative capacity spectrum method. To establish the overall calculation of three-dimensional model of the projects was under rare earthquake Pushover analysis, and evaluated on the results. It reveals the effect of rare earthquakes in the actual structure of the yield mechanism, the emergence of order in the plastic hinge, and identify the structure of the weak links. Recognized structural design of "strong column and weak beam" design principle obtained results of Pushover analysis. On the basis of the result, the actual structure is analyzed totally and the result is satisfactory, and useful to the design work.
