In recent years, the state investment into the development of high-speed railway is constantly increasing, and the railway construction is on increase. With the continuous improvement of train speed, the complexity of traction power supply system is also increasing, so is the stringent requirements for reliability, which pushes the in-depth reliability research of traction power supply system. However, at home and abroad, the quantitative analysis of the whole issue of the reliability of traction power supply system is still in its early stages. Therefore, to further the research in this area, to improve the traction power supply system reliability and cost-effectiveness is of great necessity.Traction power supply system consists of the two aspects:traction power substations and OCS system, which are generally the focuses of traction power supply system reliability evaluation. The external power system reliability evaluation is excluded from this paper, for it is generally considered as part of the large-capacity distribution network as well as due to space reasons.GO is a method to the probability of success-oriented systems analysis techniques for system reliability, availability, security and risk analysis, and is an effective system reliability analysis method. In this paper, the respective reliability is calculated and analyzed by the GO method on the three methods of connection between electrical traction power supply system and traction substation main wiring. In the OCS system reliability assessment, a comparison study is carried out between a GO Analysis and a traditional analytical Fault Tree Analysis on the reliabilities of the OCS docking three kinds of power supply modes, thus shows the relative reliability indicators. Finally, the GO Zone Act of power supply reliability assessment model is established on the double-track railway examples. The accurate calculation results and greatly reduced computational complexity than other methods indicate the effectiveness and applicability of the GO method for the traction power supply system reliability assessment.
