In this paper, the MATLAB software is introduced to simulate the operation and control of a central air-conditioning system of a department store in Baoding city. Firstly, the mathematical models and the simulation models of various parts on the central air-conditioning system of the department store are established; then, four energy-saving operation strategies are put forward based on the existing operation method, including CAV-CWV, VAV-CWV, CAV-VWV, and VAV-VWV, meanwhile, three automatic control ways are presented, including controller on different number of chillers, PID and Fuzzy, then, from the simulation process, the figures of indoor air temperature, cooling capacity, power change and energy consumption are obtained, through the comparison of simulation results among the three controlling methods, as well as the analysis of the energy consumption among the four operation strategies, an optimistic operation strategy and an appropriate control way are settled.
