The realization of unattended and remote monitoring of substation automation is the inevitable trend of technological development. Unattended makes use of remote technology, communication technology, network technology and control technology to replace afar on duty from the local duty and substation operation and control can be achieved by the remote control center. With the realization of unattended substation, it is necessary to establish a centralized control center. Electric power communication network which is the power system infrastructure is the base of realizing centralized control and scheduling power substation automation and an important means of ensuring network security, stability, and economic operations. The business of communication system needs for power control system is analyzed in this paper. Combined with the actual situation of communication network construction projects of Control System in Tianjin Dongli Electric Power Company, the corresponding communication channel in the program is designed and to be implemented, which realizes the design functions to achieve practical results.
