Automatic Generation Control is a control technology of maintaining the frequency stability and adjusting the active power balance in tie lines among interconnected power systems. It can increase economic efficiency and management level of power grid. The Ultra High Voltage power transmission is for optimizing resource allocation and inevitable requirement of building a reasonable stratification, strong interconnection, large-scale, economical and reliable power grid. This article describes the basic control principle of the AGC, analysis of the influence of the operating of the UHV 1000kV Southeast Shanxi - Nanyang– Jingmen to the properties of Southern Hebei power grid. As to the problems of the AGC direct regulating units and the inside and outside tie-lines of the grid to meet the running of UHV, the corresponding targeted technical and management measures to ensure the Southern Grid running reliably are proposed.
