Ecological Campus Planning Within The Guidance Of Appropriate Eco-design Strategy

Universities are the cradles of innovation of a nation. If the environment of campuses is not planned in a proper way, the theories about the importance of taking care of environment proposed by universities would not be convincing. With the rapid development of the theory of ecological sustainability, how to create surroundings that are agreeable for faculty and students to live and learn and ultimately achieve the goal of buliding green and sustainable campuses has become a popular issue discussed by the whole community. As the initial stage of the construction of a campus, whether campus planning has ecological potential or not significantly determined the quality environment of the campus in the future. As a result, only through giving some strategic guidance on eco-design can the frame of eco-campus be constructed effectively in the beginning of the planning, which is necessary to make the construction and operation of eco-campus possible.By discussing some representative instances at home and abroad, the author firstly eloberated her initial study about the nature and characteristics of eco-campus planning and then summarized and refined the principles and concept of the planning. On this basis, the author analyzed some practical examples and thought about eco-planning and specially eloberated the main points of campus planning.In this article, the author studied not only the classification and characteristics of the proper strategies of eco-campus planning but also the features of the structure of eco-campus. By doing this, the author further clarify a planning strategy, which is suitable for eco-campus design. Comparing with some representative instances about eco-campus planning at home and abroad, the author specially studied the guidance of the strategy to spatial structure, land use, functional layout, transportation, energy systems, building space, architecture, environmental landscape etc. And on this basis, the author preliminary summarized the general steps of eco-campus planning and design.Eco-Campus is a full life cycle of the process, we should not only pay attention to each single plan's ecological goal, but also focus on the impact between the different planning elements, follow the principle of the whole system in all parts of integration planning. Combined with the ultimate goal of ecological campus planning and influencing factors, we considered the systematic ecological research campus planning at different levels, divided it into macro, meso and microscopic levels in the vertical, and then explained the meaning of each level and their ecological campus Construction of positive significance.The study is a continuous and long-term process, with the development of eco-design theory, it will be completed and updated constantly.
