In order to alleviate the pressure of China railway transportation, the ministry of railways has altogether six degrees speed-up. After the speed-up, the Train Diagram Structure of China railway has essentially change, the operation rule of passenger and freight train flow appears new features, the non-equilibrium transportation phenomenon becomes more and more frequent. These causes the traditional section carrying capacity calculation method already cannot objectively reflect the actual capacity of train sections. Therefore, it must reposition the transportation resource utilization of railway network. Especially, people pay more attentions to the issues how to calculate the carrying capacity of passenger and freight mixed double-track railways, and how to coordinate the capacity utilization of this railway system's dots and lines.Based on consulting a large number of papers, documents, and the latest research developments in the field; using railway transportation organizations, the theories of optimizations, system engineering and large-scale systems control, the text has systematically researched the method of calculating the carrying capacity and system dots and lines coordination. The main points as followed:1. The author analyzes the influencing factors and component elements of capacity, and introduces the methods of calculating the railways section's carrying capacity, also analyzes the adaption of these methods.2. Based on the China railway diagrams data during 2008 summer vacation, using the methods of statistics theory, the chapter preliminary analyzes them. After that, it draws a result of the structure regulation and characteristics of China passenger and freight mixed double-track railways, and provide basis for through capacity calculation.3. Starting with the regulation and characteristics of Train Diagram Structure, based on the original calculation method and theory, it puts forward the calculation method be suitable for the current regulation and characteristics of Train Diagram Structure. Taking jing-hu, jing-guang, jing-jiu, long-hai and jiao-ji lines as examples, using three calculation methods, the utilization of the section carrying capacity has calculated and analyzed. At last, using this method, it calculates the maximum carrying of different kinds, and analyzes the different influencing factors.4. Using system analysis thought, the paper, adopting both qualitative and quantitative methods, analyze the system capability characteristic. Then the content, principia, goal and method of passenger and freight mixed double-track railways system ability coordination is studied using coupling coordination theory.
