"The Eleventh Five-year Development Plan of Railway" clearly proposed that our country will construct a transportation network system of three-level railway container terminals, which include 18 central container stations,33 secondary handling stations and nearly 100 tertiary service stations. This project is divided into two stages. In the first stage, stations of all levels will be built; in the second stage, transportation organizations between stations will be built. The work of the first stage has been started since 2005, so far, the construction work of 18 central container stations have been comprehensively launched, and the cities where the 33 handling stations will been constructed have been basically chosen. In recent years some scholars discussed the location of central stations and some discussed the operation scheme of container train between 18 container central stations, but no one has ever discussed the operation problem of the container train between three-level stations, thereby, the present thesis mainly discusses the operation scheme of the container train based on three-level stations.The thesis is based on the Theory of Organization of Wagon Flow, and on the premise of the similarities and differences between the Organization of Wagon Flow and Organization of Container Flow. Center stations, handling stations and service stations have their own operational modes, so the research on the transportation organization of three-level stations is divided into two parts. In the first part, the author focuses on the operation scheme of container train between central container stations and handling stations. According to the terminal layout and function orientation of container center stations and handling stations, there mainly runs container train between central container stations and handling stations. In the second part, the author focuses on the transportation organization between service stations and adjacent central container stations or handling stations.Aiming at a reasonable organization of the running container train, and a temporal and spatial discussion of the operation scheme of container train, the paper analyzes the factors influencing the operation scheme, the organization form of container trains and operating conditions. On the basis of following the principles of running according to flow, choosing the transportation organization between container center stations and handling stations on a straight line as an example, the paper determines the operation scheme of container train between container center stations and handling stations according to the method of solving step by step. Finally, the thesis analyzes the transportation organization problem of the container transfer train between service stations and center stations or handling stations, proposes running principle and organizing method, and discuss the suitable number of wagons and trains of container transfer train for obtaining the biggest economic benefit on the condition of meeting operation demand.
