The earthquake macro-phenomenon has demonstrated that the influence of the vertical seismic motion is obvious in high intensity area. Vertical seismic action has become a more and more important subject to engineers in recent decades. At present, the seismic performance analysis of the frame-supported reinforced block masonry shear wall structure mainly stays under horizontal earthquake action, and the research of the vertical seismic action of the structure have not been reported. As a result, a research on he frame-supported reinforced block masonry shear wall structure aseismic performance is both theoretically significant and practical. In this paper, the finite element analytic software SAP2000is used to establish the three-dimensional calculation model of a twelve-layer frame-supported reinforced block masonry shear wall structure. The main research contents and results can be summarized as follows:(1) On self-vibration characteristic analysis of the structure, the results show that:the sixth step is the vertical vibration. It is only need to consider the fundamental mode of the vertical vibration when the vertical seismic action is researching. The cycle in this paper and the cycle from the specification recommended formula are basically identical.(2) On elastic time history analysis of the structure under the8-degrees vertical seismic, the vertical seismic response of the frame-supported reinforced block masonry shear wall structure and the frame-supported reinforced concrete shear wall structure are also compared. This paper works out the structural dynamic internal force coefficient, vertical displacement and time history curve. The results show that:the dynamic internal force coefficient is increasing with the increase of floor under the vertical seismic action; The vertical seismic response under three types of seismic waves is different; Their vertical seismic response are similar; The deflection of the frame-supported beam meets the requirements of the specification(3) On elastic-plastic time history analysis of the structure under the8-degrees vertical seismic, this paper analyzes internal force and deformation of the models under different conditions by changing the structure parameters:the depth-span ratio of the frame-supported beam, the height-width ratio of the frame-supported beam and the way of opening holes on the upper wall. The results show that:increasing the height-span ratio will reduce the frame-supported beam vertical deformation, so it is favorable for the deformation but not conducive to internal force. The vertical seismic performance of the structure is better when controlling the way of opening holes on the upper wall and decreasing the height-width ratio of the frame-supported beam.
