Axial piston pump is an important power produced and actuated component in hydraulic system, which is the most widely used hydraulic components.With the accelerating of the economic development of our country, the demand of axial piston pump is very strong in the field of agriculture and industry,and the requirements of the piston pump performance and type is become higher.Therefore, developing a CAD system applied to the design process of the piston axis tilted plunger pump to short the design cycle and improve the design accuracy is very important.On the base of consult the piston axis tilted plunger pump design material, complete the methods of the piston pump design and collation, related empirical value selection in design process and the order of relevant parts design, obtain a set of complete piston axis tilted plunger pump design process. Based on the modularization design, we divided the pump into five modules,they are piston,piston shoes,swashplate,fuel distributor and rotor.The five main parts are designed respectively and interrelatedly.Using VB6.0 as the software development tool, according to the set of complete piston axis tilted plunger pump design process, convert the plunger pump design calculation flow into the corresponding program code.After the design, using the parametric graphics techniques and Solidworks secondary development technology, produce the 3D drawings in Solidworks to guide the production.It can satisfy the requirements of both at the same time, and enhance the interaction between design and production, that can be quickly , easily and directly, guide the production.The system also use ACCESS to develop plunger pump parts design database for storing data for future use again. Upon completion of the main functions of the above, develop the related auxiliary functions to strengthen the system of practical and usability.The paper completed the piston axis tilted plunger pump design CAD system ,realize the computer aided design of the five major parts of the piston axis tilted plunger pump. Main functions of the system including the automatic design and calculation of the main structure size, 3d drawing function, database construction, automatic preservation of the design data and help systems.This system with a briefness interface, which can be operated easily,stably and reliably. As a result of actual design test, it is design fast and accurate which can improve the design efficiency of the piston axis tilted plunger pump,shorten the development cycle of new products and reduce the burden of design.
