Asphalt pavement is the main highway form of China. With the rapidly development of domestic Transport industry, heavy traffic and overloading is increasingly serious and the early functional performance damage on the surface of asphalt pavement which is newly built is very common. In addition, because of the initial design and the difference of construction grades and standards, some pavement thickness of asphalt pavement built in the past is inadequate, which can't meet the demands of modern transport industry.According to the surface of functional performance damage and inadequate thickness, functionality reinforcement is especially important. The results show that asphalt mixture overlay is a timely and effective measures of functional reinforcement, which then involves the choice of reinforcing materials. Based on the new rubber modified asphalt's performance characteristics, for example anti-crack, acoustic noise reduction, storage stability, environmental protection, the article uses it as functional reinforcement materials of asphalt pavement.This article mainly includes: investigation on present situation and maintenance design of old asphalt pavement; technical performance test and evaluation on the new rubber modified asphalt; experimental study and the economic, environmental and social analysis of mixture overlay on the new rubber modified asphalt mixture.The engineering of Yizheng section belong to Haining line of G328. We are first going to make Investigation and evaluation of asphalt pavement of the engineering. Reference to the design method of asphalt pavement at home and abroad, this article will put forward the new design scheme of pavement maintenance;Using orthogonal experimental design method for new rubber modified asphalt's Indoor processing studies to determine the appropriate mixing temperature, mixing time, stirring rate and rubber content. After preparation of the new rubber modified asphalt, this article will test and evaluate its high temperature stability, low temperature cracking resistance, flexibility restorative, anti-aging properties and storage stability of performance; According to the the structural features of new rubber modified asphalt, this article will make the Marshall mix design, to find a reasonable set of aggregate gradation and the best new rubber modified asphalt content. Besides this, summary of new rubber modified asphalt mixture room mixing, compaction and rolling technology, and testing and evaluation of its high temperature stability, low temperature cracking resistance and water stability of performance are very important; Summarizing results of research and application at home and abroad, this article will make the evaluation of construction workability and social environmental benefits on the new rubber modified asphalt mixture overlay. At the same time, considering for the material costs and processing costs, this article will make a total economic benefit analysis.According to the investigation into the present situation and the appraisal of the relying project,considering bituminous pavement maintenance experience in Jiangsu Province, this article proposed to use new rubber powder modified asphalt mixtures to finish the functionality reinforcement overlay. The experimental study on new rubber powder modified asphalt and the mixtures indicated: the most remarkable performance superiority of the new rubber powder modified asphalt and the mixtures are the low temperature crack resistance and the storage stability; its high temperature stability, the elastic restitution, anti-aging properties and the water stability and so on are the same as the conventional rubber powder modified asphalt, meet the code requirement. Summarized the domestic and foreign experience, the new rubber powder modified asphalt mixtures overlay has the prominent environmental protection significance, the social meaning as well as the good construction workability.The results of this article provided a new material for the bituminous pavement functionality reinforcement, which has the good technical performance, the convenient construction, and the little environmental pollution.
