In the delivery process of mechanical movement and momentum, the gear is the most representative one of the mechanical parts, however, vibration and noise which are caused from the gear are increasingly becoming a prominent problem. With the rapid development of science and technology, in the occasions, gear drive has been completely unable to meet productive precision requirements and actual needs, this raises the concept of traction drive. and traction drive has been composed by lubricants of inherent cutting characteristics and rotating parts which can produce shearing motion. because the lubricant film generated by lubricating oil can avoid direct contact between two rotating parts, so the vibration and noise are relatively small, in the application of mechanical transmission, traction drive can work instead of gear drive. in the normal circumstances, traction drive can be divided into steady traction drive and traction drive in reciprocating according to different loads, steady traction drive often happenes to work in the steady state condition, for its research,measurement technology is very advanced, equipments are relatively perfect, now it has been achieved remarkable results. but the mechanism of traction drive in reciprocating is more complicated, in the actual application, it is mainly used in the variable transmission of cars, in the delivery process, because the load is alternating dynamic load, and oil film is dynamic film, traction drive in reciprocating happenes to work in the non-steady state condition and its following characteristics directly impacts on the efficiency and transmission stability of the agencies, at present, traction drive in reciprocating involved few can be studied at home and abroad.In order to further study traction drive, the paper designes a test apparatus which is used to research the following characteristics of traction drive in reciprocating. in the paper, the writer has solved some problems through practice on the test machine which have significant impact on reducing abrasion and transmission noise, improving the smoothness of transmission and the life of reciprocating mechanism.
