Water Resources Assessment Of Etuoke Country

Erdos city in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was rich in natural resources, whose storage capacity of coal, natural gas, kaolin clay and the yield of wool were row in national front, and which was authorized as Heavy chemical industry base of national energy in 1998 and Experimental city on constructing water.preservation society in the third batch in 2008. The Etuoke County is located in the west of Erdos and is also administrated by Erdos. This county mainly depends on livestock, and the technical progress factor, that is, the radio of industry economy to finance, reached to 80.7%, which was absolutely occupied the dominant position. Therefore, it is very important to the economic development of whole county. According to the situation of water consumption in operating, constructing and planning industrial projects at Etuoke County, the demand of industrial water will achieve 250,969,400 m3/a by 2030, the shortage of water resources will be 92,213,900 m3/a (P=95%). Because the shortage of water resources has become the primary factor to restrict the development of economic society of Khotok County, it had important guiding-sense to carry on the analysis and evaluation of water resources, take countermeasure in the sustainable exploitation and utilization of water resources, and safeguard the coordinated development between social economy and ecological environment.Based on the former research material and achievements, this paper used the method of integrating the qualitative analysis and the quantitative calculation to evaluate the present situation of exploiting water resources in the whole county. In view of the problems on exploiting water resources, the specific measures were proposed to realize the sustainable development of water resources. The results could be concluded as:The surface water resources, groundwater resources, the total quantity of water resources and its availability were computed in the whole county and all levels of zoning, moreover, the spatial and temporal distribution and change characteristic of water resources were analyzed. The findings were that water resources had the features of non-uniform annual allocation and bigger inter-annual change.The quality of surface water was analyzed by the supplementary achievements of comprehensive layout of national water resources. The results showed that chemical oxygen demand, permanganate index were over-proof in Dousitu River and arsenic was super-standard in partial section of river. Furthermore, the present situation of water quality was classified to inferiorâ…¤. The quality of ground water in most districts met standards and it appeared super-standard in minority districts.Based on the present situation of water resources exploitation and utilization, water supply in different infrastructures and water consumption in various industries were investigated. According to supply and demand balance of water resources, the supporting capacity of water resources was carried on. The result indicated that the utilization of water resources was in good state.
