Nowadays, the shortage of water and energy seriously hampered social and economic development, thus water and energy saving become the new development direction of building. This thesis conducts a study on water supply system of building combined with the energy condition and the research experience both domestic and international. In order to achieve the purpose of energy and water saving, the study is conducted on the following aspects: reasonable range of residential water consumption quota, applications of water saving devices and solar water heater system, the use of heat pump hot water system. An economic analysis is made in this thesis.To make a reasonable choice of residential water consumption quota and determine water consumption is the first step in designing water supply system of building, it is also the first step in the design of water-saving system. Based on the study of important factors of water consumption like city size, perfection of water apparatus, weather conditions and economic development of the city; combined with existing conditions of urban water supply and consumption and local standard of living water consumption, this thesis aims to propose a reasonable range of residential water consumption quota which is suitable for different water conditions in the country.Water devices is the part that directly contact with the water consumer, it is also an important part of water consumption. In this thesis, economy applicable conclusions are reached based on the definition and classification of water saving devices and comparison of ordinary water devices and water saving devices used in the daily life both domestic and abroad. This thesis suggests the application of water saving devices in the water supply system of new buildings.Hot water system is an important energy consumption part of the building, and the energy saving of water supply system is usually achieved through the hot water system. The energy saving of hot water system is achieved by using new energy sources. This thesis analyses the common heat medium of hot water system of building, and concentrates on the analysis of the investment and energy consumption of solar water heater through the application of solar water heater and air source heat pump, the conclusion achieved is that the application of new energy hot water system is the key of the energy saving of water supply systems of the building.It can be concluded that a reasonable choice of residential water consumption quota, application of water saving devices and new energy hot water system like solar water heater and air source heat pump is an efficient way of energy saving and water saving in the water supply system of building.
