In China, shortage of water resources has been restricting cities’development and water consumption is still increasing in the residential building district of cities year by year. Therefore, solving the problem of building district water-saving can effectively alleviate water shortages, and promote water-saving work and process of water-saving cities construction.Urban residential building districts are different degrees of water waste in China, water supply system overpressure flow, unreasonable design of domestic appliances, pipe leakage and residents’daily water habits will result in the waste of water resources. To solve these problems, the article analyzed and research on key technologies of water-saving and water supply system optimization in the residential building district.In this paper, the domestic water-saving appliances (such as:water-saving faucet, water-saving toilet, water-saving shower and water-saving washing machine, etc) were analyzed and compared to determine suitable domestic water-saving appliances to promote in the residential building district, to improve the penetration of water-saving equipment in the residential building district;Considering water sources, the ways of greywater reuse and relevant national water quality standards in the residential building district, determine reasonable water treatment processes, and recommend that according to local conditions, selected the building greywater reuse systems and residential greywater reuse systems to realize the sewage resource utilization; through the comparison and research on technologies of using road rainwater, roof rainwater and other rainwater, it is recommended to select rainwater comprehensive utilization technology covering the direct and indirect use of the rainwater in the residential building district.The same time, supported by research on these water-saving key technologies, building residential water supply system were further optimized, and building water-saving system design must be proposed. Depending water saving condition of the area, and combined with "Civil Building Water-saving Design Standard", the appropriate water-saving water quota was selected, and to determine the technical measures to meet water-saving water quota: choose pipe network overlying water supply way as a water-saving supply system to ease pipe network overpressure flow; make full use of non-traditional water sources as miscellaneous water, in order to improve the utilization of the non-traditional water sources in the residential building district; use highly efficient water-saving appliance such as: water-saving faucets, water-saving toilets and water-saving showers, to improve the actual saving rate in the residential building district; select high quality pipes and accessories to meet the needs of residents to safe water, and to prevent leakage of the pipeline; intelligently measure and manage the building water supply systems, and regularly inspect and maintain the pipe network.Finally, according to comparison and analysis of indicators on water conservation in the different evaluation systems at home and abroad, water-saving evaluation index system in the residential building district was established, recommending that use indicators of residential building water-saving and water resources utilization of "Green Building Evaluation Standard"(GB/T50378-2006) as water-saving evaluation indicators in the residential building district, adopt the classification scoring method to score each index, and ultimately make a reasonable evaluation of water-saving effect in the residential building district.
