In recent years as rapid development of highway construction, up to September 2009, China has built 3.7 million kilometers highway mileage with more than 70% of asphalt pavement. However, the environment pollution is also becoming worse off because of the old asphalt pavement material resulting from the early construction of the highway went into the repair or reconstruction. It is significant to research technology of the old material on asphalt pavement, so that resource can be improved and recycling and ecological environment can be protected.This paper analyzes the common method and technique of cold recycling, and semi-rigid nature of the old material such as old asphalt pavement materials and raw materials is analyzed what would be used in the test.Through laboratory experiments, we study the cold recycled design method, using cement and emulsified asphalt as a recycling agent,five kind of the old asphalt surface materials and semi-rigid materials of different mass ratio as recycling old material. The results show that using the best indicator of fluid content, and step by step to determine the amount of cement and asphalt content is more reasonable in cement emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture design process. And it also proposed amendments to the Marshall design method to shape and health indoor specimen.To ensure the regeneration mixture emulsified asphalt cement early strength and water stability, Cold recycled asphalt cement mixture emulsified of the best asphalt content Determine by the most splitting strength of 15℃, wet soaking Marshall stability of 40℃and dry splitting strength.Then, formation mechanism of cold recycled mixture strength and of the different regeneration doses are discussed. Through micro-test, we analyse the micro-mechanism of cold recycled mixtures of the emulsified asphalt cement. We also research the effect, as the age growth, of cement hydration products and the formation of emulsified asphalt cement mixture on the regeneration internal structure. The experiments on regeneration mixture pavement performance show that cold recycling cement asphalt emulsion has good road performance. Based on studied in the laboratory, we put forward design methods and examples of the design parameters scope of the cold recycled and structure of the corresponding combination. In the end, we make a preliminary analysis of economic and social regeneration of the cold recycled.Final conclusion is that the emulsified asphalt cement is a kind of cold recycling technology and broad prospects for economic environmental technology, especially for the highway reconstruction and extension in the region lack of road gravel material.
