Study On The Construction And Development Of Modern Park In Guangzhou

In modern history (1840~1949), since Guangzhou opened the commercial port and traded with foreign countries, the outlook of city has changed tremendously. On the one hand, industry and commerce developed fast; on the other hand, western culture was kept pouring into life of Guangdong people and they referred and absorbed from the culture. Based on the two points, Guangzhou showed its'advancement in modern development of city gradually. Based on the advancement,the starting of thoughts of building modern park of Guangzhou is analysed through two aspects. One is enlighten and propagation of thoughts of modern park because of introduction of the thoughts of western urban planning and modeling of leasing park; the other is gradually perfection of municipal system of Guangzhou through introduction of modern western culture and propagation of returned overseas students. Park becomes to main content of modern municipal construction and increasing perfection of municipal system turns to be main impetus of construction of modern park.In 1918, the government began construction of the first park in Guangzhou, which served as a prelude to Guangzhou modern park development. Advance in the development of modern municipal administration, the construction of morden park is divided into four developing stages: early time ,development, Peak, Stagnant. The research will centre on background of building park and site selection of park,analyse the allocation and distribution of Guangzhou modern park vertically,comment characteristics of building and development of park, and take Centre Park as an example to research planning and effects to citizen of modern park in detail. In addition, related park planning issued in modern times is analysed in this paper. The planning has derect meaning to build modern park. In this part, combining parks built to analyse distribution of modern park in city planning modern times, analyse development and direction of thoughts of building of modern park and positive meaning of sequential park planning.Guangzhou Modern park construction, learned the layout of Western Park. But more importantly, adaptive development in the modern urban environment of Guangzhou. Based on landscape features and site conditions choose different design theme, properly learn from methods and characteristic of classical garden-making,to show rockery-Pile and water-scenery-building of Lingnan Classical Garden. Park as a public space, with public health, recreation, public education and other functions, has a positive social meaning in the modern urban development.
