The Research On Public Space Of Science And Technology Park Based On The Perspective Of Public Life

Public life has a close relationship with public space. In the construction of ahi-tech innovation park, public space is the major player which provides theopportunities to relieve stress, relax and communicate with each other for mostworkers. Therefore, a good public space contributes to produce public life for workersin Tech Park, thus motivating their creative thinking, improving work efficiency, andbenefiting positive developments of the hi-tech innovation park.This research has studied the public life of the workers who rely on public spacein Tech Park, analyzing and evaluating the existing public space for improvement andprovide some aspects that deserve special attention in the construction of new publicspace. This paper select Tech Park as the study object, and choose the second stagesoftware park in Xiamen as the research base. It takes an environment behaviorscience perspective, and ties in Post-Occupancy Evaluation theory. By detailedobservations and analysis for the humans’ behavior actions in the public space,combines questionnaire survey and the Post-Occupancy Evaluation theory, the paperare intended to present the user satisfaction degree on the public space of the secondstage software park, and find out the correlation between space forms and behavior.Space systems, activity factors and space reachability are the main factorsdiscussed in this research. It turns out that there are interaction effects between therecognition of space reachability and activity factors, and both them potential impactthe behavior of display space. Therefore, space forms could change the interactivemode between humans and space, and then influence the speciality of space.Furthermore, the research found people’s activities usage had been ignored in theactual design of second stage Software Park, so that the public space doesn’t matchwhat the needs the public life actually does. This paper explores the actual needs ofpublic life in a Software Park, namely reachability needs, physiological comfortneeds and mental comfort needs; meanwhile it presents the key elements which needmajor work in the design of public space in a Software Park: the reachability and comfort of space usage.
