In the background of ecologically sustainable city construction and development, use the basic principles and method of restoration ecology to research the method of the renovation design of the urban industrial waste land. This ecological renovation and transformation model will attempt to explore a recreation, entertainment, living human settlements of urban ecological low density, based on a whole region landscape ecological network,with the convenient features of recycling urban industrial waste land.This paper tries to adopt a different perspective on the upgrades of Yuancun.The professional basic theory,such as landscape ecology, city planning and urban planning and architecture are taken as the academic backgrounds,the related theory,such as,city industry wasteland, ecological urban design and the update of industrial wasteland based on the ecological renovation will be studied.And apply above all in the study of the foreign frontiers research on the ecological repair and renewal of the industrial wasteland.In the forwad, generalize the frontier experience on the ecological restoring technique, landscape planning, operation and management of the project of the foreign industrial wasteland, and compare the home one with the abroad one,from which the similarities,differences and inspiration will be gotten. On the basis of this research above all, try to get the principles and procedures of renovating and transformating the industry wasteland in the Chinese city based on the restoration ecology, and use this principles and procedures to the updating and transformation of Guangzhou Yuancun-old industrial areas, in order to study an feasibile method which is suitable for the development of the Chinese ecological city.
