Constrction of open landscape is the main access to improve the city enviroment, which is also the important Public utilities and government's main responsibilty. Since the reform and open policy, landscape had the quick development, constrction of open landscape all over the country is been full swing. However, even if we go in for high quality landscap, there is still some problems and too much waste.After the holding of economical gardening proseminar In 2006, lots of specialists published reseraches and reports to explore on aspect of water-saving and energy-saving, mainly focous on water-saving researches.But constrction of landscape is a complex system, a lot of waste for an item from the beginning to the end. Problems in each step will have influence on the construction of economical landscape architecture. Meanwhile, saving on Planning and design is the most effective one. Therefore, the text will start with issues in construction of saving landscape, to analyse from all aspets and to put forward suggestions. For its problems generally lie in all kinds construction of city green area, main points is different for different green areas. To root out the problem realistically, herein we take example in Residential Area green area. Select nine green residential area in Nanjing representative for research, Separately from the community green space's afforestation, the water scene, the activity space, the plot characteristic, the material use, the resident behavior and estate management present situation these aspects investigates and studies, the analysis summary question, proposes the countermeasure to suggest, and mainly again discusses the construction from the plan design's angle from these aspects to save the community green space design method.
