Nowadays, vehicles are designed to have higher speed and lighter weight. The number of vehicles is also increasing. As a result, traffic accidents and the casualties sharply increase. In order to enhance passivity security of vehicles and decrease the number of casualties, the clash passiveness characteristic and protecting passengers of vehicles structure need be studied in design stage. Although the vehicles crash testing is necessary to appraising vehicles and passiveness protection device, testing expenditure is too expensive and the testing result is not stable for random factor. According to foreign research result, vehicles crash simulation including dummy can accurately forecast not only the clash characteristic of vehicles but also response and injury degree of passengers in clash process.The thesis detailedly states the mimic crash numeric calculation theory—dynamic explicit non-linear finite element method. It includes basic crash equation, FE discretized equation, relative element of the dummy and car crash simulation, time integration algorithms, contact-impact algorithms etc.Computer simulation is one of the most important ways in modern car crash research, there are many kinds of car crash simulation softwares, several kinds of popular crash simulation softwares including LS-DYNA and its pre-processings and post-processings are introduced in this paper, especially functions and characteristics of LS-DYNA are detailed.This paper take a car as an example, The complete finite element models of a passenger car and the occupant restraint system including a 50th percentile Hybrid III dummy and the seatbelt subsystem, were presented. According to the GB20072-2006 and GB20071-2006, the car is crashed by a rigid wall and a mobile barrier at about 50 km / h was successfully simulated and the results include the car's displacement, velocity, acceleration and the dummy's injury value, achieved comprehensive and credible appraisement with the crash process and crash performance.According to the simulation of car crash with dummy, raised the conclusions using in car passive security and car crash performance appraisement...
