Cold in-place asphalt pavement recycling is one of the main methods of the transformation of the international road maintenance. Because of simple construction, saving cost, improving the old road level and the small traffic impact, it is known as the "green" construction technology. In China, the early damage to the road is serious, caused by the damage to the grass-roots. Thermal regeneration is often unable to resolve the fundamental issue of road damage to the grass-roots. Therefore, it has important practical significance that the cold asphalt pavement recycling technologies are widely used in China.Relying on the West-bao highway repair works, the paper discusses the emulsified asphalt cold regeneration device configuration and construction technology. It talks about the composition of in situ cold recycling equipment, including a in-place cold recycling hosts, ancillary rollers, motor graders, asphalt transportation tank insulation, sprinkler, new aggregate and transport trucks, all of which together constitute a construction unit. Through a comprehensive comparative analysis of performance and price, choosing the imported equipments as the host and the domestic equipments as the rest in situ cold recycling can easily leads to a better overall performance and more savings. Basing on the analysis of the characteristics of emulsified asphalt mixture, it further analyses the strength of the formation mechanism. In the initial, the friction within the emulsified asphalt mixture plays a major role in the strength. In the latter part of the growth of the strength, cohesion contributes more. During the formation of the strength, cohesion is higher than the growth rate and magnitude of friction within. The paper presents the emulsified asphalt cold mix recycled mixture design requirements as well as emulsified asphalt cold mix recycled mixture design process and makes a concrete mix design of the experiment. Emulsified asphalt for cold recycling the grass-roots construction technology and quality control were analyzed. Emulsified asphalt cold mix recycling pilot project control requirements and on-site inspections were also presented.Combined test section was emulsified asphalt cold mixture of renewable pavement performance tests. The results confirmed that the old asphalt pavement recycling through the emulsified asphalt cold can significantly improve the surface properties of the grass-roots strength and fatigue resistance, improve pavement performance and reduce input costs, which has good economic and social benefits and has extensive engineering application prospects.
