The working reliability of vacumm switch have direct impact on the stability of the system and the reliability of supplying power. The key factor affecting vacuum circuit breaker reliability is the operation of the actuator's reliability. As a kind of new vacuum circuit breaker, the new operating principle is adopted by Permanent Magnetic Actuator (PMA), in which, the electromagnetism actuator and Permanent Magnet (PM) are rationally combined. The mechanical tripping and locking devices of conventional actuator have been eliminated; the main moving part remains one, so the PMA parts are decreased by 50% comparison with conventional spring actuator. Structure and the parts have been largely simplified; the reliability of mechanical system has been greatly increased. So,developing PMA vacumm switch becomes the impendent need of the power system evolution.At present there are many reports about the research work of the permanent magnet actuator,the major of which research simply the dynamic characteristic of the PMA on the base of the couple of electromagnetic equations and D'Ale-mbert movement equations,and the subsequent result only reflects the movement characteristic of the actuator,while the parameters of the moving contact,especially the contact impact is still unknown,so it's uncertain wether the designed vacumm switch with load can operate reliably or not.After the static magnetic field computation of PMA with FEM software,this paper constructs a ADAMS simulation model for vacuum switch with permanent magnet actuator by applying Virtual Prototype Technique, combining Matlab realizes machine-eclectric co-operation simulation, simulates perfectly the process of switch acting and achives the moving curves of the actuator and contacts system.By optimazing the factors of the permanent magnet actuator,cut down the contacts vibration and obtain expected opening and closing Characteristic factors.
