With the globalization and market-oriented of the world economic development, logistics distribution center which includes logistics, information flow and capital further promotes the development of the world economy and trade in the rapid developing era. Stacker crane is an important facilities of logistics distribution center. Its design efficiency, safety and reliability impact on the development of our logistics industry. According to the design needs of TAIYUAN GANGYU LOGISTICS ENGINEERING CO.,LTD, this paper based on CAD/CAE integration technology studies the technology of modular design, parametric design and finite element analysis of stacker crane metal structure. The CAD/CAE design system of stacker crane metal structure has been completed. The main contexts as following:(1)The research background and significance of the subject are described, the development status and trends of CAD/CAE at home and abroad are reviewed, and the application of CAD/CAE is studied in the design of stacker crane.(2)The theory of the modularization and parameterization is researched. According to the design the requirements of stacker crane metal structure, the reasonable module division is taken, and the parameterized model library is established.(3)SolidWorks Simulation is used to carry out the finite element analysis of stacker crane metal structure which was analyzed. According to the results of the finite element analysis, its safety and reliability are checked. (4)The system program is studied, and the system structure is constructed which includes five functional modules: parametric design module, model-driven module, engineering drawings regulator module, finite element analysis module.(5)With VB6.0 as a development tool and Access as a system database, the CAD/CAE design system of stacker crane metal structure based on the re-development of SolidWorks has been completed. It achieves the seamless integration of CAD and CAE, and achieves the rapid design of stacker crane metal structure.This design system not only improves the efficiency and design quality of stacker crane metal structure, but also provides an effective solution for enterprises to respond quickly to market changing demands, reduce the engineers'labor intensity effectively, short product development cycle.
