| Based on a great of field investigation, this article has studied the evaluation approaches for forest environmental resource assets in the light of theoretically research and practical application, by the approach of adoption the research achievement obtained currently in environmental asset comprehensive measuring methods both at home and abroad. This paper consists of 5 sections. In the first section, provides an overview of forest resource, forest environment, forest environmental resource, asset, forest asset, forest environmental asset and evaluation. It briefs current forestry development trends and describes the research status on environmental asset evaluation both at home and abroad. In the second section, describes the goal and significance of forest environmental asset evaluation. In the third and fourth sections, based on Liziyuan forest farm, conducts forest environmental asset evaluation in terms of its beneficial value on water resource reserve, water and soil conservation, soil fertile reserve and C02 fixation by the obtained research achievement on environmental economic measuring. The total value of forest environmental resource asset for Liziyuan farm is 308.76million yuan. In the last section, discusses the existing issues in the evaluation. It proposes to set up forest ecological benefit compensation system, based on the achieved quantified results of forest environmental asset evaluation, so as to promote forest sustainable development. The created new points in this study are as follows: (a) it is the conducted environmental asset evaluation in the province for the first time. (b) the drawn conclusion of evaluation for environniental and forest wood asset in the timber production forest area is in line with the actual situation. (c) it determines the measuring methods of environmental asset evaluation and the related technical indexes in the northwest forest area, which is valuable for further extension.
