Studies On The Traverse Conveyor For The Forwardly Inclined Straw

The performance of a cutting and convechanism was studied in this paper in orderto solve problem of how to deal with stripped straw.First of all, the moving state of stripped straw was analyzed, the results show that with thehelp of the force of inertia of cut straw and the elasticity potential energy of the uncut straw, thecut straw can move to the header and be conveyed by the conveyor cbain.According to the straw quantity conveyed, the rational height of finger, the speed ofconveyor chain, the distance of the fingers were defined.The continuity of straw conveyingshould be ensured.The finger's curve was calculated which can meet the need of removing straw from thefinger when finger finish their work.The performance of the curved finger was also checked.Through experimental approach, the main reasons that the transfer is blocked by straw arefound. As follows: A) the conveyor chain is forward positioned. B) the angle of inclination oftraverse conveyor is too small. C) the forward extension of cutter bar is short.In order to improve the order of straw lying in the windrow, the characteristics motion ofstraw in the course of traversing was analyzed. There are three modes for straw being thrownby star wheel. If the outlet for straw exceed too much the star shaped discharge wheel it isadvantageous to the outlet of straw.Through analysis of experiments, the law about the angle of straw influenced bymachine's ground speed and conveyor speed was found. Under the normal work, the lowerground speed and conveyor chain will be favorable for good order of the straw in windrow.The above experiment and theory analysis show that the stripped straw can be transportedaway by the traverse conveyor. It can solve the problem that how to meet the small size stripperharvester deal to harvest the straw.
