The conservation tillage is being studied and extended in northern China, to solve the problems of crop production in northern arid and semiarid regions of China, such as lower grain yield, poor economical benefit, lower utilization ratio of precipitation and serious soil erosion. The study of no-tillage planter is a critical step of conservation tillage, While the device of press is a key component on no-tillage planter. In this thesis, the no-tillage press wheels are studied and parameterization designed from the following aspects: (1) The different openers need the different device of press. The tine opener is widely used in Australia, while the disc opener is widely used in America and other countries. The working performance of two types of furrow opener has been compared from structure, ability of penetration, the draft force, and the shape and soil physical properties of furrow. Considering practical circumstances of China, the tine opener is more suitable to be adopted than the disc opener in China. (2) Different press wheels have been compared from the effect of press and soil crushing, through field test. The test result showed: the double rib press wheel is fit for wheat planting and the double dine press wheel is fit for maize planting. (3) Confirming the parameter of press wheel through forcing analysis. In order to improve work efficiency and reduce intensity of labor, CAD is adopted. A computer program for the parameterization drawing of press wheel has been developed. Executing rational press during planting. Press can not only lessen big interstice and air volume in soil, add soil density on seed-band, knit seed and soil, but also adjust slightly the depth of seeds in soil to make seeds in the same depth. This can create a comfortable environment for seed emergence.
