On one hand,the text made a thorough study on the effects of different sources of cuttings,different cutting ways,different treats for rooting,different cutting media and illumination time condition on Belgian azaleas' cutting propagation. On the other hand,the text preliminarily researched the responses of Belgian azaleas to the growth retardants CCC,B9 and PP333 . The effects of the three growth retardants on delaying branches' growth and promoting flank branches' development were compared. The results stated:I. 1) The cuttings from the north of crown had better effect of rooting than those from the south or the top of crown;2) Cutting cuttings in Nearing way could accelerate cuttings' rooting very well;3) Treating cuttings in different ways had little difference. But ABT-2 was still more effective than the others;4) Pearlite as a cutting medium was very fit for Belgian azaleas' cutting;5) Illumination 8 h/d might promote cuttings' rooting;II. 1) PP333 (1000ppm) had the greatest delay action;2) 69 (500ppm) had the greatest acceleration;3) PP333 and 89 could not instead of handicraft to become ideal reagents for Belgian azaleas' chemical training. Moreover,the problems in the experiments were discussed widely,and several opinions were gave for following study.This research proceeded from the practical demand,and reasonably organizes experiments on the foundation of a vast amount of study data. At last,the encouraging progress had been made. Rooting percentages were generally more than 90%. In addition,it can be possible that rooting cuttings be transplanted after 30 days from cutting,so the propagation period of Belgian azaleas will be shortened.
