In this research the genetic differentiation in growth characters of seedling of picea abies (8 provenances), picea sitchensis (1 provenances), picea glauca (10 provenances) , picea mariana (10 provenances) , picea balfouriana (44 families) and picea crassifolia (118 families) have been given a thorough study. After measuring the height of annual seedling, several conclusions can be drawn out based on the results of these materials.Which results show that it has a remarkable difference of seedling growth between different genera of picea. Such is the order of the seedling height of six genera of picea: picea sitchensis>picea glauca> picea mariana>picea crassifolia>picea balfouriana. The potential of differentiation and selection among different genera of picea abies,picea glauca and picea mariana is remarkable. When selecting picea seed, it is a better method to select different genera.For the seedling height of Picea abies, Germany populations is notably higher than Italy gpopulations. For the seedling height of picea glauca in Canada, No. 1, 3 populations in AB province and No. 5, 6 populations in SK province and No. 8 population in MB province are higher than the others. So they are preferredly selected by this test. For the seedling height of picea crassifolia, No. 28, 101, 16, 83 families is more than 9.0cm, and No. 32, 87, 8, 20 is between 8.0cm.In the compare test about the action of light on picea crassifolia, a conclusion can be put out that the action of light on root system length, lamina number, treetop length, sid shoot number and seedling weight of picea crassifolia is notable. In the compare test of biomass among seedlings underthree different growth conditions to breed in greenhouse, the biomass (except root system length) processed by light are higher than the other two. So light has a notable effect on the boost of the growth of picea crassifolia.In the compare test of annual seedling in greenhouse, two yearly seedling in glasshouse and three yearly seedling in nursery, several conclusion can be drawn out: The difference between seedling height or lamina number under different condition is notable. The seedling height in greenhouse with light is higher than the other two.There are no difference between different nutritious soil percentage and they all meet the demands of seedling growth of spruce.6-BA and GA3 can all break up the dormancy of spruce and accelerate the growth of seedling. The result shows that 0. 1% 6-BA and 1.0% GA are the best choice.
