Normal and health cattle including Qinchuan cattle 531 and other cattle( Nanyang cattle, Holstein, Charolais, Limousin, Piemontese, Simmental, Gelbrieh) 512 were measured body traits, appearance estimation and angles of linear assessment in this study, which and 12 kinds of body Indexes were applied to systematically explore the regulation of growth and development characteristics of cattle figure using multi-statistical analysis. Result showed that :The growth and development in Qinchuan cattle had significant differ -ence. In female cattle, the growth of loin length was faster between 1. 0-1. 5 age in year (10. 37%)and the growth of rump width was faster between 1.5-2.0 age in year(18. 10%) than between other growing stages. The growth of other body measurements were faster between 0. 5-1. 0 age in year (5. 04%-16. 02%). In male cattle, the growth of chest width(12.00%), rump width(14. 07%), loin width(13. 35%) and withers width were faster between 1.0-1.5 age in year and the growth of chest depth(12. 58%), head length(10. 03%), neck circumference (13.13%), level body length (8. 33%), dorsum height, height at hip cross (8. 79%), fore leg height(6.54%), rear leg height(6. 66%) and rump length(6.58%) were faster than between other growing stage. The growth of other body measurements were faster between 0. 5-1. 0 age in year (8. 55%-14. 81%). The growth of rear body was later in both female and male cattle. The increase extents of chest width (42.53%), rump width(47. 64%), loin width(59.52%) and withers width(52.80%) were the biggest traits in the growth of female cattle and in male cattle the biggest traits were heart girth(49. 93%), chest width(53. 51%), rump width (58.18%) and withers width(57. 65%). The bigger traits were heart girth (42. 53%), body length(35.11%), level body length(37. 28%), chest depth(35. 54%), dorsum length (43. 07%), loin length (35. 92%) and rump length (38. 38%) in female cattle and neck circumference (35. 42%), stature(30. 00%), chest depth(37. 71%), dorsum length(33. 79%), loin length(33. 22%) and rump length (36.30%) in male cattle. Body height and length increased higher before 1.0 or 1. 5 age in year and body width and depth increased higher after it in female cattle. Body height and length increased higher before 1. 5 or 2. 0 age in year and body width and depth increased higher after it including the traits of male characteristi -cs in male cattle. The growth rate of Qinchuan Cattle before 2 age in yearwas rapid than after 2 age in year and the body measurement of young cattle of 2 age in year was similar to adult cattle which showed cattle can be selected for breeding or fatting before 2 age in year. The body measurement were classified respectively into 15,5,15 major characteristic groups in adult cattle, young cattle and cattle with body weight data, which could reflect rather comprehensively the properties of growth cattle on the level of threshold coefficient 75% by using cluster analysis, which provided the reference for traits groups reflecting character -istics of Qinchuan cattle growth. The typical traits were selected to make principal component groups obtained by cluster and about 87. 5% total variance information was synthesized through the former 6 principal components(the first included variance information of forehead small width, rump length; the second included variance information of head length, height at lip cross, dorsum length and loin width; the third included variance information of stature, heart girth and circumference of cannon bon; the forth included variance information of body length, rump width, rear leg and rump circumf -erence; the fifth included variance information of breech height and withers width; the six included variance information of chest width)which could provide some reference for multi-objective selection of body traits and linear assessment system in Qinchuan cattle. The Qinchuan cattle linear assessment system were brought out based on multi-statistical analysis to meet the need of breeding program which selected 20...
