Canine ectoparasite disease and dermatosis are common. To control the canine ectoparasite disease and dermatosis, investigation was made in a dog field, the occurrence rule is grasped, suifigure drug is screened, comprehensive prevention and cure measure is taken.Investigation showed that there are mainly seven kinds of canine ectoparasite disease and dermatosis: lice infestation, tick infestation, itch mite, demodicidae,fungus,eczema and canine suppurative dermatitis. And 25.3% (419/1653 ) of canine clinical cases are caused by these diseases. The occurrence of canine ectoparasite disease and dermatosis depends on dog's breeds and age, the local climate, physical environment around the dog field, dog's breeding and management, dog's self-immunity ability, and so on.Comprehensive prevention and treatment measure is being taken, such as: training the breeders, improving the breeding and management, killing insects in the dog field, cleaning the houses of the dogs, striding the institution of insulation and inspection.The achievement is outstanding, in 2001, the incidence of canine ectoparasite disease and dermatosis decreased. For example: Lice infestation cases reduced from 128 (378) to 16 (412).During the past 4 years, from 2000 to 2003, the clinical cases caused by ectoparasite disease and dermatosis were treated with anthon, ivermectin, deltamethrin, terbinafine hydrochloric, clotrimazole ointment, dakening ointment, 0.05% alum solutions, Zinc oxide ointment, cyproheptadine ointment. The results show that the best way is to take a medical bath with 0.05% deltamethrin to deal with lice and tick, and the cure rate respectively is 82% (63/77 ) and 79% (41/52); to treat itch mite and demodicidae is to medically bathe with 2% deltamethrin, together with ivermectin injected intramuscularlly(lml/50kg), the cure rate respectively is 76% ( 19/25 ) and 67% (18/27 ) ;1% terbinafine hydrochloric is used to deal with fungal infection, the cure rate is 83% (19/23) ; cyproheptadine ointment and 2% alum solutions are used to deal with eczema, and the cure rate is 80% (20/25 ) .
