A new water-saving irrigation technique-sophon surge flow irrigation method for well-irrigation districts is put forward in this paper,which makes use of a regulating pond and a set of system for producing surge flow ,and intermittent flow occurs from outlet of the low-pressure pipeline automatically,then surge flow can be achieved.The technique combines surge flow with low-pressure pipeline harmoniously,exerting each advantage fully to attain the best water-saving result.The new technique adapts to our country's current production,economy,management level and personnel's quality.lt will be very important for the development of water-saving irrigation in northern irrigation districts of our country.Main research results are shown as follows:l.The constitution and working principle of the system are introduced .The system makes sophon .sophon demolition pipe and sophon demolitin cup as intermittent flow occurrence device,which combines a regulating pond to produce surge flow automatically from outlet of the low-pressure pipeline, surge flow irrigation is achieved. The formation principle of the intermittent water also is analyzed. Indoor experiments have been carried out to verify the feasibility of this water-saving technique.2.Unsteay flow mathematic model of the system was established.Indoor system experiments have been done to measure the variety process of the water table in the pond and quantity in the low-pressure in the process of surge flow irrigation. Unsteady flow mathematical model is established according to the relation of the hydraulicfactors.The relevant parameters are assuranced on the basis of the experimental data. The mathematic model is used to imitate the variety process of the water table in the pond and quantity in the low-pressure pipeline ,measured values and imitated values were compared to test the rationality of the mathematic model.3.Analytical calculation on the sophon surge irrigation system with pipeline in well-districts.Conveyer and service pipes and regulating pond of the system was analyzed through unsteady mathematic model.By comparing various schemes of the system,more optimum scheme which can meet various irrigation technical demands was selected,validating the technical feasibility of the system to produce surge flow irrigation. At the same time,investment of per unit area of the system was estimated to validate the economic feasibility of the sophon surge flow irrigation system.
