Cysteamine was an effective growth promoter, but the mechanism of cysteamine oninfluencing the growth of animal was not clear. Cysteamine was also a kind of antioxidation, which might be more important for cysteamine to accelerate the growth of animal and improveimmunologic function. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of cysteamine onantioxidation , immunologic function and the relation between antioxidation and immunologicfunction.Wistar weanling rats were respectively fed on high fat diets(10% fat)supplemented with 0,15, 30, 60 mg/kg cysteamine four weeks. The result indicated that the antioxidative capacity ofrats were decreased by high fat diet. The activity of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px),superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase(CAT), the level of glutathione (GSH) and totalantioxidative capacity (T-AOC) were increased significantly(P<0.05), the level ofdiaminodiphenyl methane (MDA) was decreased significantly (P<0.05) with 15,30mg/kgcysteamine added in high fat diets. But 60mg/kg cysteamine was adverse for the antioxidativecapacity to increase (P>0.05). The optimum dosage was between 30 mg/kg and60 mg/kg.KM mice(male,5~6weeks) were seperately fed on basal diets supplemented with 0,15, 30,45mg/kg cysteamine . The result indicated that the index of thymus and spleen, phagocyticactivity of PMФ, SI, antibody antiSRBC were increased significantly (P<0.05) with 30,45mg/kgcysteamine added in basal diets. Cysteamine could increase immunologic function of mice , theoptimum dosage was 45 mg/kg.KM mice(male, 5~6weeks) were injected by 100mg/kgBW D-galactose through abdomenfor 30days to establish oxidative aging model. The result indicated that the antioxidative capacityof mice was increased with 30,45mg/kg cysteamine added in diets and the index of thymus andspleen, phagocytic activity of PMФ, SI, antibody antiSRBC and the level of IgA,IgG ,IgMwere increased significantly (P<0.05) at the same time. It was indicated that the effect ofcysteamine on immunologic function of aging mice was relative to the antioxidation of body, andcysteamine increase the immunologic function by increasing the antioxidative capacity of mice.KM mice(male, 5~6weeks) were injected by 100mg/kgBW D-galactose through abdomenfor 30days to establish oxidative aging model. This experiment was conducted to investigate theeffects of cysteamine on DNA damage of thymocytes in aging mice by single-cell gelelectrophosphoresis. The result indicated that the percent of DNA damaged thymocytes and thelength of comet tail of aging mice were decreased significantly (P<0.05) with 30, 45mg/kgcysteamine added in diets. Cysteamine could increase the immunologic function of mice bypreventing thymocytes DNA from oxidative damage.
