In this paper, the effects on the main components in sows colostrum, the piglets'growth performances, diarrhoea rate and serum biochemistry indices were examined of supplementing the sows'diets withdaidzein (Da), valine (Val) and chromium nicotinate (CrN) during late gestation and lactation and of thepiglets'diets with different levels of spray-dried plasma protein (SDPP) and enzyme preparation (EP),respectively. Three experiments were conducted. In experiment 1, the effects on the main components in sows colostrum, the piglets'growthperformances and serum biochemistry indices were examined of supplementing the sows'diets withdaidzein (Da), valine (Val) and chromium nicotinate (CrN) during late gestation and lactation , respectively. The results showed: 1. that Da and CrN+Da could improve the milk protein significantly (P<0.05); 2. thatDa, Val+Da and CrN+Da could significantly improve the piglet's weight at the 21st day (P<0.05) andweanling weight (P<0.05); 3.that CrN+Da could slow the decrease of triglycerides (TG), total protein (TP)and globulin (GLB) in weanling piglet's serum under the condition of high temperature; neither Val+Danor CrN+Da could decrease blood urea nitrogen (BUN) in the serum (P>0.05) significantly, but CrN+Dacould improve alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in the serum (P<0.05).In experiment 2, the effects on the piglets'growth performances and diarrhoea rate were examined ofsupplementing the piglets'diets with 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% of spray-dried plasma protein (SDPP) frombirth to thirty five days, respectively. The results showed: 1. that 2%SDPP, 4%SDPP, 6%SDPP, 8%SDPPand 10%SDPP could improve the piglet's weight at the 35th day (P>0.05). 2.that SDPP could not decreasethe diarrhoea rate significantly (P>0.05). Based on the piglets'growth performances, diarrhoea rate andfeed cost, supplementation of 6% SDPP was recommended in piglet diet.In experiment 3, the effects on the piglets'growth performances and diarrhoea rate were examined ofsupplementing the piglets'diets with 0.1% and 0.2% of enzyme preparation (EP) from birth to thirty fivedays, respectively. The results showed: 1. that 0.2% of EP could improve the piglet's weight at the 35th day(P<0.05). 2. that both 0.1% and 0.2% of EP could decrease the diarrhoea rate. Based on the piglet's growthperformances, diarrhoea rate and feed cost, supplementation of 0.2% EP was recommended in piglet diet.
