Study On Formula Of Organic Substrates And Fertilizers For Soulless Culture Of Garlic

The experiment was conducted with "Hanzhong Garlic"cultivated in five organic substrates (A1, A2, A3, A4, A5), which were mixed with substrate dregs for mushroom, sawdust, slag and peat. And the soil (A6) is as the control. The two kinds of compound fertilizes (B1, B2), composed of chicken droppings, "Bodisen"organic compounding fertilizer and N, P, K inorganic compounding fertilizer, were applied. There were 12 treatments in total, 3 replicas with random group arrangement. The effects of different compound substrates, mixed fertilizers on the growth of garlic seedling, yield and quality were investigated, and the changing of nutrient content in substrates during the growth were also analyzed. The main results were showed as follows: 1. The physical and chemical characters of different substrates were different. All the substrates were suitable to garlic cultivation and could supply better circumstance than soil. Organic fertilizer could improve physical and chemical characters of substrates, granule in substrates increased and the capacities of water and fertilizer holding, and even the airing capability was improved. Applying with compounding fertilizers enables the substrates to have rich mass and trace elements which met the requirement of the garlic growth. 2. The growth, yield and quality were remarkably different in different treatments. Cultivation in substrates reduced the days of seedling merging, bulb sprout shifted to an earlier time and the scape and garlic were available at early time to the market. During the whole growth period, the morphologic characters and fresh samples'quality of garlic growing in substrates were much better than that in soil. Applying sterilized chicken droppings and organic compounding fertilizer was better than applying sterilized chicken droppings and inorganic compounding fertilizer. Except for A5B1 and A4B2, the scape yield in other treatments were much higher than that in soil. Garlic yield was higher in B1 treatment. Analyzing the overall quality, the garlic growing in substrates was better than in soil, especially for Vc and garlisin forming. But nitrate content is higher. It is over the save limitation of national standard. 3. Analyzing of the nutrients in substrates before and after cultivation, and the nutrition in all parts of the plant, the mass elements taking in was related to the substrates and the fertilizers applied, But it was not obvious that the trace elements absorbing was related to the substrates and fertilizers applied.
