The aim of this paper was to study the proper proportion of POEG: BSEG in metabolizable glucose (MG) for growing–finishing sheep fed 1.1M basal diet with MG intake of 100g/d, the paper consisted of two parts: Exp1. The measurement of MG value of basal dietThree inner Mongolian semifine-wool wethers (1.5 old years, 30kg BW) fitted with ruminal and duodenum and ileum cannule were used to measure the metabolizable glucose value of basal diet in vivo. The results showed that: the metabolizable glucose value of the basal diet was 45.40±2.99g/d.Exp2. The assessment of proper proportion (POEG:BSEG) in metabolizable glucose for growing–finishing sheepNine inner Mongolian semifine-wool wethers (1.5 old years, 30kg BW) fed the basal diet and fitted with ruminal, duodenum and ileum cannule were used to study the proper proportion (POEG:BSEG) in metabolizable glucose for growing–finishing sheep. Based on the diet used in exp1, the metabolizable glucose intake of the sheep was elevated to 100g/d, the proportion of POEG:BSEG in metabolizable glucose was changed by different infusion dose of propionate into the rumen and different infusion dose of glucose infusion into the duodenum. The diet MG value after propionate and glucose infusion were measured and the proportion of POEG:BSEG in MG was confirmed. Then the proportion of POEG:BSEG in MG were divided into three levels: 1:2.3,1:1.7 and 1:1.0. The results showed that: the proper proportion (POEG:BSEG) in metabolizable glucose for growing–finishing sheep(30kg BW) fed 1.1M basal diet with MG intake of 100g/d was 1:1.0 according to energy utilization efficiency and blood biochemical indexes.
