In this experiment, bamboo rats were fed concentrates with different energy and protein levels to explore the effects of concentrate energy and protein levels on bamboo rats' production performance, blood physiological and biochemical indexes, determine the appropriate energy and protein levels in bamboo rats concentrate, and provide basic data for the formulation of bamboo rats' feeding standards and the industrialization of bamboo rats' breeding.Seventy-two healthy 3-month-old Silver Star Bamboo Rats were randomly divided into six groups(1,2,3,4,5,6).Each treatment contained four replicates and three bamboo rats per replicate. The experiment was designed with 2(DE: 12.4MJ/Kg,13.6MJ/Kg)*3(CP: 14%,16%,18%).The trial period is 107 days, the preliminary period is 7 days, and the positive period is 100 days.,the positive period is divided into two periods,50 days each. The test results show that:(1)In the early stage of the experiment, compared with 12.4 MJ/kg group,BW and ADG increased by 6.34% and 26.2% in 13.6 MJ/kg group(P<0.05);concentrate protein level had no significant effect on growth performance of bamboo rats(P>0.05);the combination of 13.6MJ DE/kg and 16% CP had the best growth performance.(2)During the whole experiment period, the concentrate energy and protein levels had no significant effect on the growth performance of bamboo rats(P>0.05);the combination of 13.6MJ DE/kg and 16% CP had the best growth performance.(3)During the whole period of the experiment, the mortality of 12.4 MJ/kg bamboo rats was higher than 13.6 MJ/kg bamboo rats;the mortality of 18% CP group was the highest, followed by 14% CP group, and the mortality of 16% CP group was the lowest.(4)Compared with 13.6 MJ/kg group, the slaughter rate and semi-clean rate of 12.4 MJ/kg group decreased by 3.39%(P<0.05)and 2.19%(P<0.05);the concentrate protein level had no significant effect on slaughter performance(P > 0.05).(5)Compared with 12.4 MJ/kg group, the length of large intestine and cecum in 13.6 MJ/kg group increased 13.5% and 18.29%;the concentrate protein level had no significant effect on growth performance of bamboo rats(6)Compared with 12.4 MJ/kg group, the liver index increased by 0.52% and the kidney index decreased by 0.22% in 13.6 MJ/kg group;compared with 16% CP group,14% CP group had a 0.11% increase in cardiac index(P <0.05).(7)Compared with 12.4 MJ/kg group, the levels of BUN and TC in serum of 13.6 MJ/kg group increased by 22.78% and 29.57%(P <0.05).TC content in 14% CP group was 44.6% higher than that in 16% CP group((P <0.05).(8)Concentrate energy and protein level had no significant effect on 19 blood physiological indexes such as white blood cell count, red blood cell count and platelet count(P>0.05).In conclusion, the growth performance of bamboo rats fed with 13.6MJ/kg and 16% CP concentrate was the best in the early growth stage(90-140 days old);during the whole growth period(90-190 days old),the energy level of concentrate was 12.4 MJ/kg,and the protein level was 14% to meet the growth and development needs of bamboo rats;but the growth performance of bamboo rats fed with 13.6 MJ/kg and 16% CP concentrate was the best.
