Study On Effects Of Light Quality On Biological Actived Constituents In Roots Of Rumex Gmelini Turcz.

Rumex gmelini Turcz is classified as Rumex (Polygonaceae). Its root and rhizome have been used for antifungal, antitumor, antitussive and expectrant, antiasthma, antivirus and antioxidation. To study the effect of shading films on content in roots of R. gmelini, we studied (1) effects of light quality on content of resveratrol and polydatin in roots of R. gmelini. (2) effects of light quality on content of anthraquinones in roots of R. gmelini. (3 ) effects of red film shading on content of resveratrol and polydatin in roots of R. gmelini.(4) effects of yellow film shading on content of anthraquinones in roots of R.gmelini.Data analysed show that content of resveratrol and polydatin in roots of 1-year-old R. gmelini were improved significantly by red film;content of anthraquinones in roots of R. gmelini were improved significantly by yellow film;content and yield of resveratrol and polydatin in roots of R. gmelini were improved significantly by red film for 30 days;content and yield of Chrysophan in roots of R. gmelini were improved significantly by yellow film for 15 days;content and yield of Emodin in roots of R. gmelini were improved significantly by yellow film for 30 days;content and yield of Chrysophanol in roots of R. gmelini were improved significantly by yellow film for 30 days;content and yield of Physcion in roots of R. gmelini were improved significantly by yellow film for 45 days.The results of this study mean that we may get higher content and yield of secondary metabolites through different shading films controled, which offer the theoretical base and the practical guide to R. gmelin cultivated in compliance with good agricultural practice (GAP)and provide new thoughts for development of traditional Chinese medicine or natural medicine.
