Ginkgo bilobal is one of the oldest trees in China. It is important in economy, ornamental, scientific research and bionomics. From the last 70s, the Pummene sp invaded our area .There is lack of male gingko tree in our area, and staminate flower is needed to collect from other area to artificial pollination. Due to ignorance of quarantine, the Pummene sp was brought to our area, and then spread through the area. As infected, the leaves died or fell. The pest spread rapidly, and the ornamental and ecology defense of Ginkgo bilobal were reduced seriously. So this research is most important in solving the question now.By establishing fixed monitoring station, associated with captive feed and field investigate, we observe the regularity of behavior, morphological character and the result of control experiments of Pummene sp. Pummene sp has one generations a year in our area . The damage was closely correlated with tree species, composition, stand density, age and canopy. The damage is heavier in the pure forests than the mixed one.Control experiments were made according to the occurrence regularity and ecological characteristics of Ginkgo bilobal, such as artificial catching, painting trunks, chemical control, and so on. The feasibility of deferent control measures was reviewed .The result showed that artificial catching could kill 82% of the pest, painting the trunks could kill 100% of the pest, spraying on the bottom of tree trunks could kill 75.78-90.1% larva, decamethrin bomb 3300 times could kill 99.4 % of the pest ,Bt 400 times could kill 88.47% of the pest.
