Observation Of Follicle Wave And Ovulation Rate In Dazu Black Goat Using B-supersonic Technology

The rule of follicle development and the ovulation of dominant follicle as well as luteinization process in estrous cycle of maiden goat of Dazu black goat (6-12 months old) were observed by using B real-time supersonic fault scanner, and the ovulation rate of the goat was counted. All of the same process was the same on Nanjiang yellow goats.The aims of the experiment were to: establish the ultrasound shadowgraph of the ovary normal structure image, acquire the rules cyclic changes in ovary, statisticing Graafian follicle's growth change rule and the ovulation rate, providing the direct evidence for the Dazu black goat's high reproduction performance, and also providing one fast accurate method and theory basis for goat nucleus herd's selection breeding. The results were as following:1. There was few corpus luteum with cavity appeared after ovulation of the goats.2. Two Dazu black goats' integrity oestrous cycle were observed, and it was found that both had three follicles waves.3. The smallest diameter of Dazu black goat's follicle ovulated was 4.0mm, so Graafian follicle was definited when its diameter was over 4mm, which is smaller than in other sheep's (d≥ 5mm). It is possibly one of the reasons why the Dazu black goat gets high fertility.4. In 25 oestrus ewes of 6~8 months old, the total number of ovulated follicles was 79, with the average number 3.16 per ovulating ewe; In 16 ewes of older than 8 months, ovulation rate was 55 with the average number 3.44. Among the total 134 Graafian follicles, 80 were ovulated from the left side ovary. 54 from the right, with the average number 3.27 per ovulating ewe.5. 11 oestrus Nanjiang Yellow Goats of 6~ 12 months old were observed, the total number of ovulated follicles was 28, 15 were ovulated from the left side ovary, 13 from the right, with the average number 2.56 per ovulating ewe.6. 5 Dazu black goats of 6~8 months were chosen randomly to observe the average size of both ovaries, the length and width of the left ovary were 23.9mm, 16.5mm respectively, and that of the right ovary were 26.0mm, 16.3mm respectively; Other 5 Dazu black goats of over 8 months were also randomly observed on their average size of both ovaries, the length and width of left ovary were 28.3mm, 18.6 respectively, and that of the right ovary were 27.9mm, 18.1mm respectively.
