Duck Virus Hepatitis (DVH) is an urgent and highly fatal infectious disease of young duck by Duck Hepatitis Virus. It is characterized by urgent illness,rapid spread,short disease progress and high death rate. It is caused by DHVI and spreads everywhere in the world, it was first reported in our country in 1963. It is one of the main serious diseases in duck, it exist in many places of our country, especially on WEI FANG district. Its incident continues in high level with the rapid development of duck breeding. Based on the clinical statistic, both the occurring and death rate is over 65%, which brings great economic loss to duck breeding. So it is essential to prevent the disease for controlling the disease. Although we toke many compound prevention measures, the effect was not satisfied. The main reason was, (1) the wrong prevention and treatment, (2) the false time of prevention and treatment, (3) the prevention and treatment was not carried into execution, (4) prevention and treatment was not applied neatly. We put forward many prevention measures according to our experience, for example: strict disinfection, separating feed, reinforcing the immunity to the sire and young duck, giving passive prevention to the young duck using serum and antibody; prevention with drug. The effect of prevention applied by the most culturists was good. We thought it was not only necessary, but feasible to take these measures to prevent DHV.1. Separating and appraising the DHV: inoculating the representative clinical material to the duck embryo of 10 days to separate the virus, collecting the allantoic fluid to do serum counteract experiment with the non-immune healthy duck embryo, making diagnosis that the virus was DHV I.2. Strict disinfection, separate breeding experiment: from the angle of controlling infection former, we scouted a fixed culturist for one year. The result was that the occurring rate fell down from 60% to 20%.
