Six varieties of multicolor ornamental plants were used as materials in this research, the introduction planting and spread experiment was carried out in the Middle East of Jilin province .The results of test planting observation and actual spread application for three years showed that:1.The biology habits of six varieties of multicolor ornamental plants did not change basically and all eminent characters were reserved, moreover the color changed deeper after they had been introduced to the Middle East of Jilin,2. Goldleaf privet among six varieties of multicolor ornamental plants could not live through the winter normally on the open filed cultivation of introduction areas and could not introduce successfully. It could be used only with potted plant or protection plant Other five varieties could live through the winter on the open field cultivation of introduction areas safely and introduced comparatively successfully, .they could be applied to the garden and afforestion actually and the result was good..3.The influences of different measures for preventing cold to live through the winter on six varieties of multicolor ornamental plants is different. The best prevention cold and protection measure for goldleaf privet is covered with plastics membrane; and the best measures for sweetwilliam, Jinshan Spiraea and Jinyan Spiraea are covered with plastics membrane, secondly irrigated with closing over water, covered with soil or snow, the effect of their protecting cold has no difference; Covering with soil or snow is the best measure for preventing cold to live through the winter for garden pink, cluster annual phlox.4.The cold resistance order determined with relative conductance of three varieties of multicolor ornamental plants is: the strongest cold resistance is Jinyan Spiraea, secondly is Jinshan Spiraea, the weakest is goldleaf privet.The result is consistent with the order of actual cold resistance. Namely, the cold resistance of different plants could be judged by relative conductance .5.The best propagation method of six varieties of multicolor ornamental plants is twig cuttage, and the survival rate all is high.
