Based on the current application of color leafed plants in Chongqing, this research selected Loropetalum chinense (r.br.) Oliv. 'Rubrum', Ligustrum vicaryi. Hort, Duranta erecta L. (D. repensL. ) ' Golden Leaves', Acer palmatum Thunb, Prunus erasifera Ehrh 'pissardii', which are largely used by Chongqing , as five kinds of color leafed trees to be the plants on test. Through the research on the change of their pigment and leaves color, the research has summarised the laws of the change of these color leafed trees ,and provided theoretical referrence for their better application in Chongqing. Meanwhile , this research also probes into the disposition of color leafed trees, discusses the theory , principle and methods of the disposition and it also summarizes some successful application modes. All above mentioned is only for reference. The results indicate: 1.the change of their pigment and leaves color(1) the content of chla and chlb in the leaves of Loropetalum chinense (r.br.) Oliv. 'Rubrum' , Ligustrum vicaryi. Hort , Duranta erecta L. (D. repensL. ) ' Golden Leaves' ,Acer palmatum Thunb, Prunus erasifera Ehrh 'pissardii', presents the order of low-high-low, from the newly- born leaves to September, and reaches its height at the end of May and June.. The content of carotenoid in the leaves of the above mentioned color leafed trees is dynamicly consistent , presenting the order of hige-low-high. The content of carotenoid in the newly-born leaves and old leaves is a little high, while in the mature leaves it is a little low, which is the reverse change of other pigments's change. The content of carotenoid in Ligustrum vicaryi. Hort and Duranta erecta L. (D. repensL. ) ' Golden Leaves' , is obviously higher than R.hybridn and Loropetalum chinense (r.br.) . The change of carotenoid in Loropetalum chinense (r.br.) and R.hybridn is comparatively stable ,and the change of carotenoid in other color leafed trees rebounds largely. From the table 2 and figure 5 ,we know that the content of anthocyanidin in the leaves of Loropetalum chinense (r.br.) and Prunus erasifera Ehrh 'pissardii' is dynamicly consistent. The content of anthocyanidin in the leaves of these two plants gradually rises from the birth of the new leaves and reaches the height in June, when the content of anthocyanidin in Loropetalum chinense (r.br.) reaches 1283.5nmol/g and 1939.6nmol/g in Prunus erasifera Ehrh 'pissardii'. In July and August, the content of anthocyanidin in Loropetalum chinense (r.br.) and Prunus erasifera Ehrh 'pissardii'. decreases. In September it begins to rise again.
