Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of adjuvant chemotherapy combined with Tian Foshen oral liquid(TFS) in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients with qi and yin deficiency.Method:This clinical research is one part of TFS IV phase clinical research. According to the previous scheme design, only set up the experimental group. All cases received the same basic treatment of chemotherapy, combined TFS at the dosage of 20ml 3 times daily. Chemotherapy and oral medications all used 2 treatment cycles, with 21 days for a treatment cycle. The clinical efficacy and safety of the medications were evaluated, at the end of the treatment, by comparing before with after treatment. The observation indexes include the TCM symptom scores. KPS scores, weight. QOL scores, objective response rate and clinical benefit rate. Also, we retrieved 33 articles about TCM combined with chemotherapy treating NSCLC patients with qi and yin deficiency, published in 2000-2015. Then we compared the results of clinical research with the articles. Results:Paper data derived from 24 cases of NSCLC patients with qi and yin deficiency who were hospitalized in Beijing university of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated Dong Zhimen hospital in 2012.11-2014.12.2 cases fell off,1 case lacked data, and 21 cases could be counted. TCM symptom scores have a significant difference between before and after treatment(P<0.01), the clinical effective rate was 71.43%; KPS scores have no statistical significance(P>0.05), and improvement and stability rate was 90.48%; there is no significant difference(P>0.05)in weight, and its improvement and stability rate was 57.14%; QOL scores have a significant difference (P<0.05). Counting the data of 17 cases with measurable lesions before treatment, the objective response rate(CR+PR) was 11.77% and the clinical benefit rate(CR+PR+SD) was 64.71%; No serious adverse reactions happened.Among the 33 articles, there were 13 articles using TCM symptom scores as effect evaluation, with clinical effective rate fluctuating between 35%-93.75% and 77.88% on average; 22 articles using KPS scores as effect evaluation, improvement and stability rate fluctuating between 70.59%-94.23% and 84.77% on average; 31 articles use objective response rate(ORR) as effect evaluation, the ORR fluctuating between 10.52%-62% and 38.89% on average; 30 articles use clinical benefit rate(CBR) as effect evaluation, the CBR fluctuating between 60.87%-96.67% and 84.96% on average. This research’s TCM symptom scores clinical effective rate and KPS scores improvement and stability rate are similar to the literature, while objective response rate and clinical benefit rate are lower. Conclusion:In the treatment of NSCLC patients with qi and yin deficiency, adjuvant chemotherapy combined with TFS can stable tumor foci to a certain extend, at the same time, it can improve TCM symptoms and improve quality of life.
