A Literature Study On Zhongjing 's Treatment Of Pulmonary

In this thesis, it mainly researched relating provisions of pulmonary abscess in "Synopsis of Golden Chamber" written by Zhang Zhongjing, and organized relevant literatures in this area, summarized the law for the treatment of pulmonary abscess, explained Zhang Zhongjing’s academic thought and medication features toward pulmonary abscess as well as the related discussion of later ages doctors on lung abscess, which have a tremendous contribution on the modern clinical guidelines. In this paper, the lung abscess’s disease name, diagnosis, etiology, prescription therapy, identification, prognosis and contraindication are discussed in several parts.The first part focuses on the definition of lung abscess and the origin of the disease name. The disease name of Lung abscess was first appeared in "Synopsis of Golden Chamber" written by Zhang Zhongjing. In this book, lung abscess’s etiology, diagnosis, pulse, treatment and therapy were described in details. In the "Synopsis of Golden Chamber Heart Code · the seventh diagnosis and treatment of atrophic lung disease, pulmonary abscess, cough the upper Qi abnormal pulse", it was interpreted as: "Patients who have lung abscess are due to obstruction, if the obstruction is not unchoked, the heat will be aggregated on lungs. " Although the "lung abscess" was first put forward by Zhang Zhongjing, there were relevant presentations about lung and abscess in "the Internal Canon of Medicine". Most of the discussion on disease name of lung abscess by later ages doctors are following Zhang Zhongjing, only a few individual physicians used "lung sores" to replace lung abscess. In addition, this part also explores definition and understanding of modern medicine for lung abscess.The second part discusses the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and featured diagnostic methods of lung abscess in "Synopsis of Golden Chamber. " Through the systematic analysis on the lung abscess provisions in "Synopsis of Golden Chamber" to explain the etiology and diagnostic methods of lung abscess, combined with the views and opinions of later ages doctors to deepen the understanding of the theoretical basis, and better illustrate and inherit Zhang Zhongjing’s academic thought. The third part mainly discusses the original therapy, prescription and drug analysis of lung abscess in "Synopsis of Golden Chamber". To explore Zhongjing’s treating thoughts on lung abscess, and the expansion of later ages doctors in the treatment and prescription of pulmonary abscess.The fourth part discusses the prognosis of lung abscess and its differential diagnosis with other illnesses. The prognosis of lung abscess was not discussed in "Synopsis of Golden Chamber", but the later ages doctors have many discussions on the good or poor prognosis of this disease. By studying the prognosis of this disease, we can have a good judgment of the trend of this disease in clinical, thus reducing the mortality rate and greatly improve the treatment effect. In addition, with the identification of other diseases, we can determine lung abscess more accurately and to avoid misdiagnosis.The fifth part is the cases of lung abscess treatment both in the ancient and modern societies. Through the analysis of these medical cases, we can have a more intuitive understanding toward the treatment and pathogenesis of lung abscess, the relationship between soil and gold, as well as diagnosis, pulses and symptoms, which will play a very good guidance on the clinical treatment of lung abscess.In conclusion, Zhang Zhongjing’s discussion on lung abscess mainly focused on wind pathogen & heat-toxicity, bad blood & rot body and lead to abscess in lungs, with the main symptoms of cough, chest pain, spitting fishy pus and bloody. Lung abscess in TCM and modern Western medicine is a pulmonary tissue pyosis caused by a variety of causes, which is similar with suppurative pneumonia and pulmonary gangrene. Clinically, it is rarely treated by Chinese medicine, but through the organization on the etiology, therapy and prescription of lung abscess, it can not only provide a systematic study on the disease and its associated symptoms, but a presentation of treatment effect of Chinese medicine for the lung abscess.
