| Wind edema is one of edema,which is caused by wind evil attacking lung which fails to disperse and descend.The main features are catching a quick disease,edema which develops rapidly,concomitant exteriors syndrome.By sorting articles concerned with wind edema in Synopsis of Golden Chamber,we research the name,etiologic factors,pathogenesis,clinical symptoms and pulse,treatment and prognosis of it in this paper.We expect to offer theoretical guidance to renal edema by in-depth research the feature of wind edema and aim at offering theoretical guidance to the clinical application.According to the research,we can find that the name of wind edema was firstly seen in Huang's classic on medicine.This discussion exactly indicated that the symptoms were puffiness of eyelids,swelling of limbs which were depression under pressure,fever,aversion to Wind,sweating sometimes and so on.One of Etiologic factors was wind evil attacking while consumptive hidrosis.The other reason was that kidney wind syndrome was needled by error.Pathogenesis related to the root in the kidney and the branch in the lung.The principles of treatment were opening up the sweat glands,voiding urinary bladder,removal stagnation and extravasated blood.On the basis of taking up predecessors' experience,combined with clinical practice of Zhongjing,wind edema was systematically discussed and all-round in the special chapter of Synopsis of Golden Chamber.According to etiologic factors,pulse and symptoms,edema was classified into four categories: wind edema,skin edema,typical edema,stony edema.And it was known as the firstly classification in the history of edema.Many clinical manifestations of wind edema were supplied.It was reflected that the course was in dynamic change.On the onset of wind edema, swelling was minor,while exterior evil was excess.So the symptoms were floating pulse, arthragia,aversion to wind.Ensue on the development of the disease,because of excess edema,swelling worsened little by little.The pulse of deep and slipper on the cunkou,facial puffiness as lying silkworm ly,heat,puffiness of eyelids,pulsate of neck vessel,cough ever and again,depression hands and feet under pressure,all that was called as wind edema.The symptoms were worsening from the first facial puffiness to severe edema,edema of limbs, engulfing finger under pressure.Also,the pulse was developing from floating,floating and full,deep and slipper.Zhongjing told us that the disease was growing and changing all the time.So in the clinic we should observe in the round to find the essence of disease.The new cognition of etiologic factors was that when wind veil was stronger,it was known as urticaria,qi was more,it was edema.Especially,Zhongjiang had developed greatly on the treatment.He established the principies of treatment.Promoting urination was used to the edema on waist,while sweating was used to below.The contraindication of sweating was the symptoms of thirst,diarrhea and frequent urination.The prescriptions of sweating were Fangji Huangqi Tang,Yue Bi Tang,Xing Zi Tang,an so on.It constructed and integrated the system of treatment based on syndrome differentiation of edema.One of the prognoses was that wind edema got better through the sweating.The other was that it could convert into skin edema and typical edema,even thrombotic phlebitis and death.It was obvious that the cognition had been deep in some measure,and brought to light the rules of syndrome differentiation and treatment. |
