Syzygium jambos(Linn.) Alston belongs to Syzygium species of the Myrtaceae family. As a kind of traditional medicinal plants, its fruits, leaves, bark, roots and seeds all can be used for treatment. Besides, it is characterized with wide distribution, various biological activities and complicated chemical components. At first, this thesis reviewed the studies that has been reported on its distribution, chemical constituents and biological activities of Syzygium jambos(L.) Alston. This thesis studied the chemical constituents and volatile components of Syzygium jambos(L.)Alston, which were distributed in Guizhou province, by methods of GC-MS, column chromatography separation, combining with spectrum data of ESI-MS, 1H-NMR and13C-NMR. What,s more, this thesis extracted polysaccharide of Syzygium jambos(L.)Alston by membrane separate technology. This study enhances our understanding of Syzygium jambos(L.) Alston and provides the necessary knowledge for its potential medical benefits. The main results of this study were showed as follows:1. Seventeen compounds were isolated from the extraction of chloroform, ethyl acetate and n-butanol. Eleven compounds were identified as asiatic acid(S-1),2,6-dimethoxybenzoquinone(S-5), dibutylphthalate(S-6), rutin(S-7), ursolic acid(S-8), β-sitosterol(S-10), henicosan-11-one(S-11), hexadecanoic acid(S-12),alphitolic acid(S-13), suberone(S-14) and resveratrol(S-17). Besides, compounds of S-7, S-11, S-12, S-14 and S-17 were obtained from Syzygium jambos(L.) Alston for the first time.2. Chemical constituents of the volatile oils from the stems and leaves of Syzygium jambos(L.) Alston were extracted by steam distillation and have been analyzied by GC-MS. 48 chemical compounds were separated and 35 chemical compositions were identified from volatile oils of the stems, the main compounds were geranyl acetone(8.898%)、viridiflorol(4.797%)、Cis-10-methyldecalone( 2.603%) and so on; 73 chemicals compounds were separated and 42 chemical compositions were identified from volatile oils of the leaves, the main compounds were cedrol(5.777%)、anethole(3.945%)、hexadecanoic acid(2.989%) andgeranyl acetone(2.959%)etc. The results also showed that there were 20 constitutions were present in both parts. Besides, most of them belong to terpenoids,sesquiterpenoids.3. Polysaccharide of stems and leaves of Syzygium jambos(L.) Alston, which have already been extracted by ethanol, were separated by membrane separation technology. Based on molecular weight, they were divided into 4 groups(UF-100,UF-50, UF-10 and UF-5 below). The extraction rates of total polysaccharide of each group was 0.93%, 0.91%, 0.62%, 0.43% and 1.39%.
