Luffa is an important gourd vegetable crops, with abundant nutritious ingredient and that is of great benefit to human health.Recently, need for new luffa cultivars have been increasing gradually with cultivation area of luffa increasing year by year. Yet the breeding of luffa had begun relatively late, had few study on breeding basic theory and genetic studies of some Important Economic Characters. The aim of this experiment is to reveal the genetic effect of main economic Characters. With the model of quantitative traits and classic genetics, a joint analysis of multi-generations from the six generations(P1,P2,F1,B1,B2 and F2)of the crosses between several luffa breeds was carried out to investigate the inheritance of the main economic traits for comparison. Thereby afford theoretical guide to luffa breeding. The results showed that:1. The fruit skin color, fruit stripe, fruit skin smoothness and seed color are all follow the inheritance of quality traits. Fruit skin color is green (dark green) for the dominant, white (white and green, light green) is recessive. Peel is a convex stripes as dominant, recessive is non-convex stripes. Fruit skin smooth shows skin smoothness is dominant, recessive is wrinkled skin. Seed color is black for the dominant, white is recessive.2. Analysis of variance and coefficient of genetic variation, the research field of 20 economic traits of selected parents are significant differences extremely. Hybridization among species and within are heterosis in Luffa. Combination of plant traits which is hybrid are the most obvious advantage. It shows the growth potential of the hybrid offspring significantly increased. At the same time, reproductive growth also has been enhanced.3. Analysis of variance and coefficient of genetic variation, although studied four major quality traits in different generations and parents are variously different, quality traits in the selection of these parents was no significant difference existed.4. Genetic parameter estimation and analysis of genetic effects show:Most agronomic traits are dominant in three combinations, and additive effect and dominant effect also play the major role, and its interaction effects are widespread. It shows that the genetic effects of luffa is the dominant effect of the main, and also has the additive effect, and supplemented by the role of interaction.5. Correlation analysis showed that luffa total yield and early yield were highly significant positive correlation(r=0.943**). Production and leaf length, leaf width, petiole length, petiole diameter and internode length traits in vegetative growth showed a negative correlation, however, is not significant correlation. It shows the status of vegetative growth restricts the late reproductive growth in some extent. Production and the first female flower, node of first fruit, fruit length and diameter, and fruit shape index traits in reproductive growth also showed a negative correlation, however, is not significant correlation. It show that the situation of the late reproductive growth especially the flower and fruit thinning of the field management is crucial on the composition of output. On the study of the luffa's soluble protein, vitamin C, dry matter and soluble sugar analyzed, which show soluble protein was positively correlated with dry matter. Dry matter was negatively correlated with soluble sugar. The rest of the relevance of quality traits were low.6. Path analysis showed that different agronomic traits on yield luffa played a decisive role. The order is fruit weight> early leaves> fruit shape index> fruit diameter> main stem diameter> internode length> fruit length> 30 within the female flower number> the first female flower> the first fruit set node>the first male flower nodes> early height> pre-production. Path analysis of the soluble protein showed that different agronomic traits on the soluble protein played a decisive role. The order is fruit weight> main stem diameter>fruit diameter>early leaves> fruit shape index> the first fruit set node>node of the first male flower> fruit length> 30 within the female flower number> the first female flower> early height> internode length>production>pre-production. In the path analysis, among them, soluble protein content and fruit weight of the direct path coefficient are the highest, and are lower of the direct path coefficient to the production factors. Other agronomic traits of the soluble protein content have positive and negative effects. But they are not obvious. And they are not undermine the contribution of the soluble protein content.
